Is the Clinton camp race baiting?

The bloggers over at Americablog and Daily Kos think they've found evidence that the HRC campaign is purposely darkening video footage of Obama to make him appear blacker than he really is.

Americablog

I hope this is the last day of this bull crap-especially while some of us still remember the good in Clinton's legacy.

UPDATE

I been looking through some of the DailyKos comments on the original thread that broke this story.
DailyKos Scoop

DAILYKOS offers this update and some interesting follow up questions:

UPDATE:A few of the comments have properly pointed out that the entire Clinton commercial is in darker tones. It has also been pointed out that darker tones are often used to subtlety demonize political opponents.

Both of those points are well-taken. However, is there or should there be a double standard when one of the candidates is a person of color--i.e., is it OK for a white politician to darken or distort the image of another white politician in a commercial, but not a black candidate?

If the answer to the previous question is yes, why?

Also, why is it EVER OK to distort an image of a political opponent?

And why do we accept that to make them look worse we darken them?

I appreciate your comments on the matter.

'Appear blacker than he really is" Help me out a little bit here. What if this moon bat theory is true? The blacker a person is the less we can trust him? The worse a person is? I don't get it.

Im pretty sure BO is not white. But Im confused on the shade of black we should evaluate him as.

Black is black.
White is white.

We now have to subdivide it down to color tones????

Well I don't really get it either wabah58.

But if you look at the video footage it does look like Obama goes from a high yellah to blue black in the HRC campaign video.

Now I have heard bigots say-like Rush-that Obama is a half-Rican. I imagine that somewhere in the HRC camp, they think that Obama's mixed African/White background is allowing the run of the mill casual bigots to be OK with voting for him.

I can't think of any other explanation for whitening the man's teeth and shirt and at the same time darkening the rest of the video footage.

Let's just say this theory is true. Is it a streach to think a political opponent is going to be made to look good, in a add against him?

I think the answer is no. If BO makes a add against John McCain he (BO) is going to make his image of his opponent look as bad as he can.

I don't know Bold, I think it's a fishing trip. With heavy doses of oven cleaner at work.

Fishing trip?

Maybe.

You're right to say that campaigns try to cast their opponent in the worst possible light. But they don't do it using shades of skin tone.

It could be a fishing trip...
