Well this is interesting. Apparently a car jacking in St Louis goes for a minimum sentence of at least 5 years while a scooter jacking carries a penalty of at least 25 years.
Thoughts?

I read the story and that's either a reporter's error or an example of a crazy law.

If the story is accurate in it's details but wrong with this: "The 2007 carjacking carries a penalty of at least five years in prison and the scooter-jacking carries at least 25 years in prison..." I think the difference must have been that one vehicle jacking was comitted with a gun and the other has no mention of one.
But I don't know. I can't find a link to Missouri minimum sentencing rules.
