Obviously here at Boldly Liberal you will not find us agreeing much with the politics that Heston's espoused in later life. I agree with the views he had in his younger days when he stood up for the downtrodden and the underdogs. In his later life however he just seemed to go batshit crazy.
El Cid was definitely one of my favorite movies growing up as a kid. I dreamt of being a knight riding along with Heston and fighting the Moors. After I hit puberty I watched El Cid and dreamt of Sophia Loren.
Sophia Loren is still the perfect woman. And Charlton Heston is dead.
Rest in Peace Mr. Heston. Thank you for all the great movies.
