Yeah Gateway Pundit let's talk about bridges...

So Gateway Pundit picked up this youtube vid about Larry Pogemiller, a Minnesota State Senator, confirming all his fears that Dems are socialists.

Gateway Pundit writes:

"At least he's up front about it.
Here is what Pogemiller said in response to questions about a tax hike in Minnesota:

"I think it is simplistic and naive to say that people can spend their money better than government... The notion that everybody can individually spend their money better than government, I just think is trite wrong-headed and anti-democratic."

Oops! Pogemiller probably has no idea that what he just said is extremely offensive to Americans who work hard for their money just to see government take it and build a bridge to nowhere."

Get wingnutty

That's what I love about Conservatives. They use Republican fuck ups like the bridge to nowhere to justify their belief that government is wasteful.

It seems to me the simplest answer is just not elect idiot Republicans who create the bridges to nowhere.

For the record Pogemiller says he was taken out of context. Wow who never heard of Conservative idiots doing that?!

Pogemiller sets record straight

I was a little surprised to learn that a Republican Party leader in the St. Cloud area chose to write to the Times about remarks I made to my constituents weeks ago at my town-hall meeting in Minneapolis. (“Pogemiller’s words show laws of land are obsolete,” Wednesday.) My surprise turned to disappointment when I saw the author also chose to strip my remarks of any context, so please allow me to fill in the gaps.

It’s true that I said, “It’s simplistic and naïve to say people can individually spend their money better than government.” I went on to say, “I don’t care how rich you are you can’t build a freeway system by yourself.” I also said, “… you can’t build a public educational system by yourself.”

The point is obvious. In a democracy we join together to provide police and fire protection, road and schools. It is simplistic to suggest that we can do these things on our own.

You shouldn't be surprised State Senator Pogemiller. Republicans are masters at manufacturing outrage.
