Stop me if you heard this before...

Readers of STL RnR may have seen this familiar ad hominem attack:

But in their new role as bloggers, the paper’s editors seem to have all the intelligence and reason of the average Daily Kos diarist sitting at home in his mother’s basement and ranting into the ether between games of dungeons and dragons.

McCain camp disses bloggers

That ad hominem was launched by McCain's blogger Michael Goldfarb.

For the record, the last D&D game I played (in the last century) was ran by a Republican. Me thinks they doth project too much...

Back when I was playing D&D I was traveling with a crew of archaelogists living out of hotels that didn't have basements.

The other thing that is funny about this smear is that D&D is not as popular as say World of Warcraft. So it demonstrates a lack of knowlege about Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games aka MMORPGs. Which kind of figures because "conservative" and "cutting edge" is an oxymoron.

I have never played D&D either. I do want to comment on the STL R&R site, though. I am sick of hearing the phrases, "living in your mom's basement" ...or..."blacks get what they deserve"...or my personal favorite..."stop hitting the pipe, trailer trash"...

There isn't an ounce of witt contained in the majority of the posters. They just repeat the same old crap over and over again.

Now, I do light certain colors of candles and offer fresh fruit when I make
"wishes" when I want something bad enough. Does this fall under the same nerdiness as D&D?

Leaving fruit while making wishes sounds kind of budhist/wiccan. To sit down with a bunch of fellow D&Ders and invent a character like we used to do in the old days takes a special geekiness.

It's ok sunshine. Not everyone could be cool...; )

And I hear you about the CL RnR. Like I keep saying, it's like daily klan meeting with a few protesters.

I guess you could look at it that way. I believe in the power of the mind. I believe our "mind" not necessarily our brain is the most powerful tool we can have. I have this strange sense to have control over how things go in my life. It seems to work for me. I will say, when my mind gets clogged, like this week or spending too much time screwing with people on cl, it doesn't work as well. Since I've opened my big mouth, now I can be labeled as a freak! Cool was never my strong trait. I was known as a gear-head in my youthful days.

One of the things I enjoyed so much about your posts were that they were witty and original. I like to be entertained mentally.

Thanks Sunshine.

Its not just on CL Sunshine, any woman who opens her mouth is looked down upon in many fora. It happens to be all the time in my "past time" which is discouraging since we try to pass ourselves off as "empowering women". yet the popular women are the meek ones, who trudge along, never commenting on or questioning anything, never disturbing the waters and just obeying to the Powers That Be. its infuriating!

Well, I say to you S. City...

Given your past time and all, I would beat the hell out of any of them!!!

I am not an empowering woman, nor am I a popular woman. I live everyday to be the best wife, mother, and human being I can possibly be. I say what I feel, I am true to how I feel, and I don't sugar coat anything for anyone including my loved ones. Whomever don't like it-fuk 'em!
