Today is the day when the French common man and woman threw off the shackles of tyranny. This happened on July 14th, 1789 and the rich folks in France have been pissing themselves ever since whenever a populist outcry is raised.
Here's a fun French factoid: Did you know the metric system is a product of the revolution?
It seems that the French wanted to not only get rid of all the fat pigs, but also any vestiges of pigdom-like the foot, yard and inch. They said to themselves basically: "Why the fuck should the length of some nob's foot be a unit of measure? Screw that, we're rational!"
So they made the meter = to 1/10000000 of the Earth's Circumference from Pole to Equator.

It sounds really great what you and you girlfriend have together. From what you have mentioned about her, she sounds like a cool gal.
Any woman that will clean a fish is neat in my book.
From the time I was in a playpen (literally), my Dad took me fishing. He actually use to set the playpen in his boat. As I grew older, he use to come and sneak me out of school and take me fishing. My Mom would get so pissed. All in all, those moments with my Father will be cherished forever. He always said, "a cloudy drizzly day was the best day for fishing." He also said, "Winds from the East-fishing the least...winds from the West-fishing the best." My Father was a great fisherman. He held the record for a Gar for a long time. He also caught a 57lb. Flathead catfish, and a 69lb. Bluecat that actually went to the St. Louis Zoo. It died five years after he took it there. (I might have the bluecat and the flathead mixed up.)
Well, as much as I enjoyed that precious time with my Father, he wore me out on fishing. I don't like to fish at all anymore. My husband loves to fish, so I go along and read and work on design projects in the boat. It really is good quality time together-no television, no internet...just a boat, a pole, a couple of friends, and peace and quiet. Here's a secret. When hubby is standing up bass fishing, I will run my hand up under his shorts and excite him! But, ssshhh, don't tell anybody. I'm not quite the prude I lead on to be! (ha!ha!) He says it makes for better fishing, so tell your honey!
Sunshine
Thats all good about your dad taking you fishing. Thats pretty cool. I have a lot of good memories of fishing with my dad when he was alive.
But great job working on the trouser trout Sunshine. Thats 2 thumbs up. Thats all I better say about that. I don't want to get in trouble.
Wabah,
Those memories DO last a lifetime, don't they? My Dad is very sick and spends the majority of his time in bed, so I'm glad he took the time to share with me when we were both younger.
Thanks for being a respectful gentleman, it's refreshing. I also like to have "fun" when hubby works on our cars. There's something about him doing dirty physical labor that gets to me.
I hope the GF like the trouser trouts, also. I learned a long time ago, the best way to hold onto a good man is by keeping them happy. Honestly, if you really love someone-it makes you happy, making them happy. You sound like one of those kind of "good guys". Mr. Bold, you seem to be one of those guys, too. You are a little more reserved with your comments, but I get that vibe. I think that's why I enjoy posting with you. OK, that's enough mushy stuff-I'll quit with the thread now.
