Obama & faith based initiatives

Mr Bold, what is this crap about Obama backing Gdubs faith based initiatives? I will vote for McCain if he keeps this up.

Mr. Bold adds-

Here's what Obama said:

The new partnership will not endanger the separation of church and state, so long as a few basic principles are followed. First, if an organization gets a federal grant, it will not be permitted to use that grant money to proselytize to the people it serves, and the group will forbidden to discriminate against them on the basis of their religion. And groups will be required to comply with federal anti-discrimination laws in their hiring practices—including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

Second, federal dollars that go directly to churches, temples, and mosques will only be allowed to go toward secular programs. And Obama will ensure that taxpayer dollars only go to those programs that actually work.

h/t to DailyKos.

As long as they're not proselytizing I don't see the problem here. There are people who are willing to volunteer and this initiative puts some Federal money behind it so they can get the supplies they need.

And don't joke about voting for McNasty S. City. That guy wants to take away your right to choose what happens in your womb and who you can marry-even taking away partnership rights and benefits. Obama is clearly the better the candidate for women.

The Obama campaign has always been accepting of evangelicals.

The problem with Bush's creation was that it wasn't particularly fair or inclusive of other religions. Obama is going to expand the program to allow all faiths to participate in fighting poverty and inequality.

I am just pulling your chain. Mr. Bold. I guess its a smart thing the big O is doing, catering to these people, otherwise they would vote for McNasty.
